Here is a list of the most common frequently asked questions about the pinger, the list and the site.
-
» 1 - What is the pinger?
Our system uses a pinger that scans your hub for the latest statistics including usercount, hubname, total share, among other information. This information is then added to our website and a list is generated for DC++ clients.
-
» 2 - How often will the hubs be pinged?
We have many pingers that work throughout the day and night to ping all the hubs in the database. Most NMDC hubs will be pinged on average every four hours including hubs that have been marked offline by previous pinger cycles. ADC hubs will be pinged every 10 minutes.
-
» 3 - Why is my hubs info appearing incorrectly?
Probably your NMDC hubsoft doesn't support the $HubINFO command or the pinger can't get in because the hub is down or having some connection problems. The registered hubowner can modify their hub information with the Control Panel in the hub properties from this site.
-
» 4 - Why does the hublist show my hub to be in a different country to my own?
The pinger will set the hubs country according to where the IP address of the PC where the hub runs, resolves too. The hub country is checked only the first time the hub is pinged. If you want to change this value go into the registered users Control Panel, and select your own country.
-
» 5 - How can I see when my hub was last pinged?
Go into hub property and check "Status" information.
-
» 6 - When I pinged my hub it was down, what can I do?
You can wait until the next pinger cycle, otherwise login to your registered user Control Panel and change it manually.

must use port 411 as this is the default port for most hubs. E.g. yourhub.com:411 The hub will be shown in the client list on the next pinger cycle. Be patient it doesn't take long.

You can remove your hub by choosing "Delete my Hub" from your "My Panel" menu; an email will be sent to your registered email address with a confirmation link. Note this will expire in 2 hours.
